The Smiling Faces Within

Jarro-Dophilus Lil

Jarro-Dophilus EPS™ is a Stable-Dophilus™ due to its stability at room temperature and enteric coating. Eight (8) different strains of probiotic bacteria are delivered directly into small intestines where probiotic bacteria fully exert their beneficial effects.

That's all well and good. We know it's important to keep our bodies local populace balanced and beneficial, I'm sold. But why should a descriminating consumer such as myself purchase Jarro-Dophilus over that other leading brand? Because Jarro-Dophilus are smiling! Don't believe me? Well there's an anatomically correct picture right on the box:

Pro-Active Probiotics

See? They're happy to be chillin' in some intestinal pockets. I can read a face - and these say "Mmmm, I'm content and hearty". (Heck, that one up top even looks like it has boobs.) How do I know what those Solgar brand probiotics are like to be around? There's no pic of them! Me and these little guys will be spending a lot of time together and trust me, it's a very intimate (and hopefully longlasting) relationship.

Nyko Wii Charging Station

I was pretty psyched to finally quell my wiimote's insatiable battery hunger in the form of Nyko's charging station. It comes with 2 rechargeable battery packs and rubberized replacement covers. The unit works as advertised; charge, play, repeat - but 2 things slighted the experience: #1 The replacement battery covers leave the charging pins exposed to inevitable hand-sweat-corrosion. #2 The charge light indicators light up on the wrong sides, (insert controller on left, lights up on right).
While #1 seems an unavoidable annoyance, the second issue just seems like a defect. It's not a big enough problem to warrant a return for me (Yes, I can pretty much figure which controller is charging and don't really care anyway)Well, I bought it at Virgin Megastore for 30 bucks and it works, for the most part. Until there's a first party competitor out there this one seems like the best bet.

Guitar Heroin 360, a little early

I would like to thank Circuit City for selling me Guitar Hero for 360 2 days early. Strict release dates are silly and end up making all the good new titles available in the beginning of the work week - a time I am highly prone to retail therapy and have little room for playing in my schedule. If the item is sitting in the store warehouse - please, just make it available. It's hard to imagine retailer waiting to sell something until all its competitors have it in stock. Those must be some harsh penalties for breaking the street date . So far the 360 guitar feels more solid than the ps2 which felt very hollowy plasticy to me, I always thought it was about to break. This makes a big difference for me - mo comfy. The cord though is short stuff - needs an extension for me. My better half even pointed out how lame that it was not wireless. No matter what corporate licensing issues there were, it does feel dumb to pay so much and still be tethered. But I digress - I still bought it. They do know how to bleed us don't they? I also have the creeping suspicion they won't go easy on the download prices either. Each DL song will be a whole new spot-on cover recording from harmonix's studio with guitar and bass notes each mapped in multiple difficulties. See I already made it sound like they'll be 250 points each. But enough negging out on to Mother as made famous by Danzig!

Tetris Evolution Early Impressions

Ok, I bit. They releasedTetris for the 360 as a full game(ie on a disc) though one would guess it to be a prime candidate for a Live Arcade release. At least it only cost 30 beans, the idea of paying 60 for any game makes me choke. I'm a fairly big Tetris fan and played a lot of it online with the DS release. Tetris Evolution offers online multiplayer as well but I am yet to venture there. The presentation is quite impressive, flashy menus and all that - but you can tell they're stretching for content; The play area consists of less than a fifth of the screen and the rest is filled with a hi def looping video of your choosing(which there are quite a few of). Some of the available background music seemed way off the mark with grinding guitar riffs and generally aggro feel. Luckily mellow alternatives are available. I hope there are at least other styles of blocks to unlock. So as you can tell I haven't played much of it yet. I'll update with more info.
